Summer.

Well guys, I am officially a high school graduate!

Weird, huh?

Yes just two days ago I walked across a stage and shook hands and received a diploma. And in just two months I will pack up my life and move a couple hundred miles away where I'll call a new place home for the next four years. Until then, I have a family. A boy who is much more than a friend but not quite an Official Boyfriend. I have a dog.  I have friends. There's so much here that if you had asked me a year ago, I would vehemently deny ever missing. And yet here I am. Nostalgic for the present.

So this summer, I vow not to plan. I'm not going to worry about what's going to happen in two months. I'm not going to worry what's going to happen in two hours. I will enjoy the moments I have while I have them. I will not emanate negativity, but instead give all the love I have to people who deserve it.

Weird, huh?

Untitled.

Sooo...it's been a bit.

It seems I am already sorely slacking in the blogging department, for which I apologize to my approximately three readers (if I'm being generous).

You see, it turns out juggling college applications, a full course-load, editor-in-chief-ship, volunteer work, and sleep is not actually all that easy, and thus things like a fledgling blog take a hit.

I will try to be better, but for now, please enjoy these pictures from the most recent adventures in my life.

A surprisingly successful first attempt at macaron making (Elizabeth has a really great recipe on her blog).

At the Molly Ringwalds' show downtown a few weeks ago. A really fun 80s cover band.

One of the dress-up days for homecoming week this year was the Hunger Games, and guys, I know. It should be black shirts and cargo pants but they wanted us to wear camo and I had that awesome fur vest from JCrew so I obliged (also my hair was braided right after this picture was taken).

Our assignment in my AP Euro class last Friday was to recreate any Renaissance painting we wanted, so obviously my group chose Boticelli's "Birth of Venus" and obviously I was chosen to be Venus (we took a vote...I did not vote for myself but if there's anything you should know about me it is that I am a Team Player).

And finally homecoming. Oh homecoming. So many mixed emotions.

The theme was "Party at Gatsby's". Overdone as far as themes go but so, so much fun (and my dress is from Zara, in case you were wondering).

And so we have reached the end of another stellar post. Thanks for reading this little blog of mine; even though I don't know you I think you're pretty great for doing so :)

And Now For A #tbt with PICTURES

A few pictures from my very busy summer filled mostly with college tours, and spending hours in antique shops, and stressing over decision making (but having a fantastic time while doing it). I was home for approximately three full weeks all summer (not consecutively). Wouldn't trade it for anything!
Isle of Palms, Charleston, SC
I am seriously so obsessed with Charleston after this trip.

Botanical Gardens, Chapel Hill, NC
Typical posing above. Also typical outfit.

Duke University, Durham, NC
Impromptu tour of Duke. I was not expecting it to be such a pretty campus! It is basically Hogwarts there.
Stone Mountain, Atlanta, GA
Stone Mountain is always a great time. We were in Atlanta for a wedding and my mom and I decided to take a little trip. (By the way, I am terrified of heights so this picture (and the accompanying ski-lift ride thing) is a miracle. As was the ropes course I did. Completely terrifying, and also somehow exhilarating. Highly recommend if you're in the area (although maybe don't go in prime August heat as we did, unless you're planning on doing the water stuff).

 Above three in Nashville, TN
In June I went on a road trip to Nashville with my friend Mallory for a concert and it. was. amazing. Words cannot express how much fun I had on that trip! The shows, the people, the city, the shopping, the coffee--every bit of it was amazing!
Mt. Vernon, Washington D.C. (technically Alexandria, VA I think actually).
D.C. is one of my favorite places in the world. I go every summer to visit family and I'm hoping that next year I'll be living there myself (fingers crossed for Georgetown)!
Georgetown University, Washington D.C.
And a pic from Georgetown, speaking of. (let's ignore the fact that I am wearing the exact same outfit as in the above Nashville pictures--it's just cute and easy, okay!)
Atlanta, GA
This was from the wedding I went to in Atlanta. It's not really relevant, I just love that dress. Also headband?! I am basically Blair Waldorf.

Two Posts in One Night Because of REASONS.

And now for a weekend recap.

Friday Evening- got home from school. Did homework. Packed for last minute trip to Florence, AL for a funeral. Didn't get any sleep from all night coughing.

Saturday-Woke up at 6:30 a.m. and got dressed. Finished packing. Went to take the ACT. Got home. Put bags in car and set off on 8 hour drive. Got to Florence, finally. Baked cookies immediately upon entering house (I am the resident chef pretty much at all times. Not because I'm all that great at it, but because I am basically a mom). Watched my friend's brothers play GTAV for a few hours. Slept on a couch.

Sunday- Woke up to toddlers jumping on me on aforementioned couch. Got up. Made breakfast for house of ten people. Went to funeral service. Went to burial. Went to friend's brother's restaurant. Went back to house where I was staying because I forgot my stuff. Went to deceased's house (where everyone was hanging after service). Left around 4:00 p.m. Got home around 11:30 p.m. Promptly went to sleep.

Monday Morning- Woke up at ELEVEN A.M. Apparently I forgot to set my alarm. Whoops.

And that's my weekend in a nutshell. Terribly eventful, but not in a good way. This week has been more of the same and it's only TUESDAY.

Prayers are welcome.

Hey! This Is An Outfit Post.

Sweater//H&M (similar) Shorts//Cotton On Shoes//Target (similar-ish)

Gosh, what a freakin' cute picture.

No but really, please ignore my face and the totally wonky photo quality. There's only so much one can do with a broken tripod and weird rainy lighting.

Anyway, this is a typical after-school outfit (having to abide by a seriously limiting dress code in Florida heat is torturous-my pants come off RIGHT when I walk in the front door).

It's terribly boring, I know. Sometimes my actual school outfits are cuter, but by the time I get home and I've been sweating in them all day long, it's useless to take pictures. Also it's my senior year--rest assured that by now my cute outfit source has been practically depleted.

Currently Coveting: September 2013

Currently Coveting, Sept. 2013

Madewell silk dress / Green dress, $51 / Ruffle dress / Ganni stripe dress / Green top / J.Crew navy shirt / Collarless shirt / Calypso St. Barth layering tank / Emanuel Ungaro slim pants / Skater skirt, $28 / Lined boots / Velvet flat, $45 / MICHAEL Michael Kors satchel purse, $500 / Charlotte Russe hat / J.Crew tortoise shell wayfarer sunglasses / MAC Cosmetics matte lipstick / Topshop moisturizing lipstick

Could you just die over that horse sweater? I, along with the rest of the J.Crew loving world, have been obsessing over it for weeks.

Welcome.

I'm Molly. Current high school senior and resident of the perpetually crazy (in people and weather and just THINGS) Sunshine State. I love gingers, and sleeping, and my dog, and netflix, and blogs. This blog in particular is my first foray in about five years of being a devoted reader to do some posting of my own.
for reference, that's me in the middle with two of my best friends, Mallory (left) and Michelle (right) on the first day of our senior year. Don't be fooled. Despite our smiles, we are more than ready to be finished.
